"My hips are too wide for us." I love the use of 'us' here - as if this woman's hips a burden in daily life, childbirth, her lover's life, etc.

Aw, that's sad, but I like it. I think it's very well written, and I like how the tone is sort of uncomfortable and awkward to match the subject, that's lovely.
