I'm amazed at how well you captured and shaped the dad's character in such a short work! The tone of the piece has so many turns in it...humor, matter-of-fact-statements...I'm kinda jealous...

One thing..."Make a list, and estimate the for more productive shopping trips." Missing word/typo in the middle of the sentence...?
