Your title reminds me of the old Chinese blessing/curse- 'May you live in interesting times'. I loved your story and the character's names, but putting an entire story in one chapter can be difficult to read because readers have to keep scrolling down. I thought your elves were still pretty unique, borrowings from Mercedes Lakey and all.
