It's a devilishly good story. A pity it was so short though. I look forward to reading your other work.

Ha! Neat. Despite it being Chambers-inspired, I, for some reason, didn't especially expect a nod to the Yellow Sign, but it was fun to see.

The pacing of this was very expert, taking its time but also getting to the point (as short stories are want to do). I don't know if you get a strong enough sense of Starks' egocentricity, though, at least not until late in the story when it feels slightly tacked on. The atmosphere you invoke with the man in the leather jacket is perfect, though.
