"Morbid sweetness." Oxymoronic, yet true.
Your use of the word "heralds" in this haiku ties the piece together nicely.
As a sidenote, I'm also a fan of Requiems.

Your poem makes me think about the purpose of a requiem, you express the duality of it well-mourning and comforting making one think of the heaven that was had in the presence of the loved one and the ache of that loss along with the heaven that we all hope awaits in the repose.
