|Reviews for Lost Characters|
| Punslinger 3/16/10 . chapter 1
This is an interesting essay. But you should read it over carefully to catch mistakes such as writing "the 1950's" instead of "the 1920s" and "Kevin coollage" instead of "Calvin Coolidge."
Originally "The Lost Generation" refered to the millions of young men who were killed in World War One and the millions of young women who were left without husbands or sweethearts. In "The Sun Also Rises" the characters felt emotionally lost and empty. Jake was the most lost because a war wound had made him unable to have a sex life. He deeply loved Brett but he couldn't do anything about it. That was why Brett made love with other men but still felt lost.
