Isca 5/2/10 . chapter 1"Paying boons in salt like Romans." What a gemstone of an opening line. :) "Bombs of bones." Powerful. Alliterative. "Outcries, uncles." The word "uncles" is very striking here. It reminded me of "The Pianist" for some reason. "And this is the sound your bones make when waltzing." -Exhales- This line is quite emotionally devastating; it's wonderful. |
Black Sparrow 4/27/10 . chapter 1'but words thicken like wet sand underfoot' - loved this line in particular :) All of your work is great. Keep it up! :) |
Backseat Benediction 4/26/10 . chapter 1oh dear, you certainly have a way with words. I don't think there's really anything negative I can say about this piece. "that singing sting of salt, wounds wandering away from the body, the thistle a missile of peace" I adore this stanza. the internal rhyme and the alliteration are both beautiful and unexpected. job well done :) much love, HtS |
