I love this piece because I have three cats and I like them a lot. I think your use of the word slumber was a good one. It describes what cats do well. The only thing I didn't like was the last line. I felt like it was kinda boring and expected. More description of the cat or of you might have been better.

This haiku is so gentle; it captures this little precious moment in all of its simplicity so well.

aaw, that's so cute

i love having cats but only if they've been with me ever since they were young. i can't just love a cat straight away unless i'm the one that nurtured it.
