"as they fad away" I love the tricky fad, gives this a lovely tongue-in-cheek flavor. Because the times- they're changing.

I'll assume you mean 'fade' instead of 'fad'. Beautifully written piece :) I love it.

Is that last line a typo? Did you mean fade? Fad doesn't seem to make sense there...

I like the piece though. I really like the idea of singing to stars before God. That was a nice description.
