When I skim through this piece, I realize that it's a poetic piece of prose. When I re-read this piece, savoring every word, I realize that you've breathed life into your characters.

I really like this - especially the repetition of a question in the beginning of each paragraph. You can really feel the desperation of this character for any sort of memory.

My favourite line? :

"Pretense, pretense; it was the best game ever."

"We were at the top of the world, remember?" I love the desperate tone of "remember?" here; it's so gripping.

"We were not alone, remember?" This is so tragic (since obviously things have changed for the speaker through time). It's sad to look back on the 'good times' and compare them to the present.

I really like this one - going to use the theme of someone deciding to share something he learnt in a relationship to the world in one of my stories. It reminds me of a very specific song.
