"There is nothing but silence and the soldier's hands on the ballerina's waist." Oh wow. This is a perfect ending. I love the image of the soldier with his hands on her waist; that's terribly beautiful and heart-wrenching.

I enjoyed this short story. I like the image of the figurine dancing and then crashing on the floor, only to be picked up by a ballerina who appreciates the beauty of fragility.
