Hmm, this chapter was really good! I love the way you're setting up a little conflict between the captain and the commander...can't wait to see what happens next!

This is actually a pretty engaging story. While the characters seem a little flat, it is only the beginning of the story. I was impressed by the depth of your universe--everything was well thought-out and introduced in a subtle manner. And the Acme-everything was pretty funny, as well (the LRD sounds a lot like the Drink-o-matic from Hitchhiker's Guide).

The story line looks interesting, although the name "star stone" seems unoriginal. However, if it is a universal legend, then something as simple as that is probably okay.

I'm looking forward to the continuation of this. Keep it up.

wow...that's a bad day. That Mandisa lady sounds like a really pain in the you-know-where. Sort of the day you'd wish you'd stayed in bed. Cool story so far, though. I like the scene with the malfunctioning food dispenser. I wonder if you've ever read "Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy," because that scene was reminiscent of the style of writing in that book. Good job! Can't wait for more.
