Not at all cheesy - thought it was a good selection that added realism to the race whilst continuing to keep that inherent elf-ness of traditional elven society :D

Lol I like your princess - she likes to think she isn't royalty but she still expects to get her way all the time :D I like it. There were a few typo-esq problems both in this chapter and the last but nothing. Also sometimes there's a tendency for the narrative to switch like you're looking at the world through the eye's of Ranaya but then all of a sudden, for two lines, you get the opinions of the Stable manager and it's a little odd - does that make sense? I tried to explain it concisely but I think I failed.

Anyways :D I'm still enjoying it so keep up the good work - I'm off to read Chapter 2!

For me, the story is a little bit rushed in some areas. Other than that, it's a good one :)
