I like how you wrote this. How, in the beginning, the character seemed to be really in the moment. Then as time passed and she lost hope, she just seemed to float through time. The emotions came through to me, and that is what I think is most important.

I really enjoyed reading this. The emotion and feeling seemed so real and the end was very powerful. It hit me hard. Very good story.

Yes I have to agree you did potray the feeling of losing a loved one nicely. I have not much like you lost a loved one in this way but...I have lost a person.
