theCoffeeEnzyme 2/11/11 . chapter 1May I open by saying thank you? I know this has been a few months ago now, but the review you left on my poem "Fever 104" contained probably the greatest compliment my writing has ever received. If not the greatest, then certainly the second. I truely appreciated what you had to say. There is probably a more appropiate venue for gratitude on this site, but heck if I know what it is. This poem drew me in because "profundity" is such a fun word and this poem, I think, is kind of fun. It's amazing the image you were able to produce in so few words and really, in my opinion, working with stereotypes. We all know the kinds of people who take pictures of nothing and think it appropriate to call themselves photographers. That's the greatest part of the poem: it's ironic. It comes off as six lines of nothing, just a comment on a person, but can translate into an effective criticism of most of society. I also think it's worth mentioning that one of my first thoughts after reading was of "The Pot" by Tool. Both your poem and that song say, essentially, "you have to be intoxicated to do something so dumb." |
dollface and her cancer 10/25/10 . chapter 1I love its simplicity, and it's good to see you back around. |
K.H. Kellar 10/20/10 . chapter 1It has been nearly 3 days, and I still can't quite figure out if I should find this funny (which I do) or if I should feel something a little more melancholic (which I do). In either case, a wonderful piece. |
