Aw, very sad! You did a good job making this very much like a child was telling the story. Well done!

I actually enjoyed reading this. I liked the ending and how it gave the reader a sense of mystery. I don't see the point in mentioning the knee, especially if it doesn't hurt the protagonist, and isn't part of the rest of the plot. Perhaps you could have added a few sentences of character development, but other than that it was good :D
