gulistanlik 4/25/13 . chapter 21Yay! I'm so happy for the two! I feel bad for Addison but I really hope she can move on. |
gulistanlik 4/25/13 . chapter 19Poor Addison. |
gulistanlik 4/25/13 . chapter 15I really like Noah, he seems like a really nice, awesome guy. Go Meredith! |
gulistanlik 4/25/13 . chapter 14Shane really is pushing it. Evan has a girlfriend, even though he's made it clear he still isn't over Shane. Sighs. They're being unfair to Addison- honestly until Evan's moved on he shouldn't have even bothered with Addison. |
gulistanlik 4/25/13 . chapter 12Ouch. Despite me knowing it is Shane's fault for missing the opportunity, it still sucks big time. I just hope that Evan isn't stringing Addison along to help get over Shane, because that'd be unfair. |

Carmel March 2/12/13 . chapter 21So this has been on my 'to read' list for ages, and I finally found the time to read it! I pretty much knew the moment I clicked on it that it would be one of my favorites, and it is :) Shane was such a great MC and I loved being in her head. She was so real and I could really relate. She had flaws and things to overcome and I loved that. Evan was a Hottie McHottie. I loved every single scene with him! He was a dynamic character, too, and his natural chemistry with Shane was wonderful. The supporting characters - especially Meredith and Noah - were great. And the college/sorority setting was so fun! Parties and formals and coffee shops! I don't think I've read too many college-based stories, but now I'm kinda hooked. The underlying lessons of this story were lovely. And so true! Seeing people outside of their stereotypes is so important. So, all in all, I absolutely adored this. The ending was perfect! Love love love it. You are brilliant. |

bookswalower 10/26/12 . chapter 1What a tremendously brilliant story! (I'll get more into that shortly) I was searching for some generic het fiction to appease my current little celebrity crush on Benjamin Walker, a moderately unknown broadway actor and recent star of Abraham Lincoln; Vampire Hunter. He's quite young and looks even younger in the work he did before he played Lincoln, so I figured I'd look for some campus centered romance where I could picture him as a typical American college student. Lo and behold I found your story, was pleased by the summary, and saw that it had quite a few reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I was instantly assured of my choice when you throw in a reference to Harry Potter in one of the very first sentences! I also almost instantly felt that I could relate to your Shane, in her unwillingness to submit to stereotypes, and her unfortunate name. (I at least have an androgynous name that could be either a girls or a boys name (Mio)) At the introduction of Evan I knew I had chosen the right story as he fit perfectly to the image of Benjamin Walker I have in my mind - and vice versa - and from there on it was simply a wonderful read. I am a sucker for the unfortunate one-sided romance, as that is what I've mostly experienced myself, and you just wrote it so darn well. Not only did you let Shane and Evan be friends and partners in crime before they started pining after each other, you made both their motives and characteristics believable in a way that is kind of uncommon of unpublished writers on sites like these. I was impressed with how much of a real human thought process Shane had, and I felt I could really follow her emotional reaction each time to the different events. You didn't make her do something out of character just so that the storyline would work out, and as I said before, she was very relatable. I live in a country were education doesn't work the same way as it does in America, and so that whole college, sorority/fraternity environment is very far away from my reality, but at the same time, perhaps a bit of a guilty-pleasure fantasy. All the same, I really enjoyed your descriptions and depictions of life at a place like that, and even though I would never be able to confirm it, it felt very real and life-like. Ultimately I was really impressed with our dialogue (inner and outer) and all the credible relationships you were able to build in your story, and to say it did the trick for my little crush, imagining Benjamin Walker as Evan that is, would be an understatement. So thank you very much for your excellent writing! I will definitely continue to read your other material :) Warm regards, /BookSwallower |
