Loved the poetry prose feel of this because I don't often see it used here on Fictionpress and I like seeing the unique discourse you used to format. Enjoyed the strong word choice too, the word "pampered" stuck out to me in a good way and I liked that because of the strength and choice. Also enjoyed the images you've created by use of "bread and circuses" because it created a story and carried it through. The last sentence worked wonderfully, liked the pause with the comma too, wise to split that clause.
