Nice, I love how you used the repetition of the phrase 'long dead'at the end of each section, it really added something to the whole piece. Great work.

You described loss very well, but I was unsure if you were talking about actual death, or merely separation. I can say that being someone who has lost my closest friend to death, your first verse captures many of the feelings that I have gone through, and captures them well. Your chorus also expresses the pain of separation very well.

I really liked the line "you've ripped off my heart's band aid."

Kudos to you to being able to share such feelings. I have written a few songs about my loss, but they are too personal for me to share just yet.
