(and okay, i try not to judge books by their covers, but mrs cain did a great job on all covers so far, i hope the next one is as good :D - that is an extra enticement to get them all.)

which reminds me - thank you for the soundtracks to the stories / charas, the love themes in particular. i can't listen to those songs anymore without remembering roan and paris (and holden, but paris mostly :D)

this has GOT to be the best series i've ever read, keeping the high quality writing up from the very first to this latest installment. you're a great writer and i'm really glad i stumbled upon "infected: prey" - the rest came naturally :D

Nazira - I hope not every teen that's appeared in this series is snarly or a brat. Most of the time I think they're just a bit misguided, which happens to the best of us. Although in Mandy's case, Holden's right - she's just like her mom. And her mom isn't a teenanger, but she's a piece of work. That might be why they don't get along.

I wonder if here was any chance Ben might have thought he had infected Dee. And I wonder wether Roan will have that peace treaty with the lion (which really sound like going back to stage one when he was out of it five times a month actually. That would mean that Roan's virus hasn't really evolved but regressed which is a thought I'm going to entertain for a while and then chalk up to me thinking too much).

I'm finding I need to read two chapters together because so much is happening and there is a lot of internal reflection going on. Two chapters gives me the space to let that unfold. So glad Scott and Holden are OK. I like seeing them out and about together even if Holden is reluctant. I don't know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. I am reading for the people to know what is happening with Roan and Dylan and Holden and Scott et al, so the story doesn't matter so much to me. I was thinking that any teenager you have had in these stories is a snarly, whiny, brat - a conscious theme? I am glad Roan is pallning on talking to Dylan rather than just reacting by leaving. I think this shows the growth of Roan and the relationship.

I am enjoying the continuing evolution of Roan and his lion as much as the evolution of Holden and Scott's relationship - can't wait to see what hapapens next and the role the English cop takes in the extended family now that we don't see a lot of Tak and the two ladies.

I'm glad Scott doesn't think Holden is a helpless puppy but frankly I don't see how anyone could not see that the man is dangerous, even without finding the hidden knifes. It's good though that Scott insists on being a bigger part in Holden's life. It was cute. But I guess him being a guy who already play a sport that's high on adrenaline he would love the idea of potential danger. I wonder if he'll find it boring and not want to do it again. Though so far he seems to be enjoying himself. And Holden is worried for him, that's cute. If cute can be applied to holden. Is scott the first person ever to go under the protective layer or did Holden's heart get hurt a few times already? He makes it sound like he was always this hard but he must have been young and innocent at some point (though I cannot imagine it at all).

I like this exploration of the changes in Roan. I like Holden wishing he was sitting next to Scott. I like seeing Dylan process was is happening and still clearly own that he wants to be with Roan anyway.

When I started reading this story I never thought the characters would become so complex. It's amazing how we have a full cast full of three-dimensional human beings. I love it. And you convey emotions so well we can feel whatever each of them are feeling. Dylan's dilema between protecting himself or staying at his lover's side knowing that he will get badly hurt is especially well rendered. And then there was that scene with the english cop from the Cat squad, Scott and Holden. I have rented a lot already about how much I love Holden but him quicking Scott either out of Jealousy or pride is a good image. He has come very far from the man with a heart of steel.

Holy fuck I love BAMF!Dylan! I can't believe it took me so long to look up your profile and check for updates. I just mainlined the last two fics. /sighs happily

Noo! They're after Dylan now. Roan is never going to forgive himself. If he survives. He was so cool fighting the Tiger. I think he just earned himself a crazy fan. Will we get to know more about the Brit? Until now there were no friend from the cat squad.

Wow. I love this escalation of stakes and the growing sense of cooperation between Roan and his lion. I also like seeing the tension in Scott and Holden's relationship and don't see it lasting if Scott is not able to own his bi-sexuality. Dylan and Roan need to come to some understanding because Roan is at war with the world. I really agree with Holden on that.

OMG! Noooo! Roan you cannot do that, the lion might decide he'd rather be king of the jungle and share a meal with the tiger rather than be batman and save the poor human. Or maybe it'll finally get to be Roan's mind in a lion's body. That would be fair. Dammit your chapters always make me wish I had a book in my hands so I could keep going until I hit the back cover T_T
