tea and vintage jumpers 9/3/11 . chapter 1I'm not that good at reviewing poetry because I don't really know why I like it, I just do... I love the words you used and the format and I think I'm in love with your writing style :) |
cab fed hig 6/12/11 . chapter 1"stifling my breath in a house of old paper." - painfully reflects the fragility of the speaker, contrasting so elegantly with the art of strangulation, 'wrap[ping]' the coat around, and repression. it's a horribly sad romance. it seems like all the speaker wants is independence or just self-reliance, even as it resigns them to loneliness. that 'want' or probably even 'need' seems to hurt their beloved, who 'begs' with passion. even as they leave, the other 'follows' with their hungry eyes, and it seems like their tragedy, at least at this point and time, is incompatibility. but the journey to self-respect is not as sad as this, so this also leaves me feeling hopeful for when they'll meet again, under the right circumstances. it sort of reminds me of jane eyre. this was beautiful. |
