Sometimes things do seem to get a little slow, but I like it all all the same. Kieran and Azriel are such opposites and such awesome characters that I can't help but like your story.

I so wanted to see what Kieran and the uncles planned for January first. I was slightly disappointed by not getting to see whatever embarrassing thing they planned, but I enjoyed the second part. I don't think I can help loving Kieran. He is just so lovable and puppy like.

Of course you've kept things interesting. I don't think your stories lack for interesting. I like the addition of Kieran also having a forest spirit when he isn't supposed to. How did he come by his owl?

I like Manah. Poor Azriel. He really can't stand against a force of nature like Kieran. Is this what Ione needs to learn to become powerful?

I love your writing. :) The story does feel rushed out points (some of the scenes could use more detail when you go back and do a rewrite. I found on mistake, but I can't remember it. I think it was at the beginning of chapter 3.
