I think all this poem needs is a little more dimension. Instead of stating things like "the weight and fear that is felt is horrifying", show us, get us lost in this feeling of panic so that when we've read through your poem, the panic manifests itself in the reader as well.

This really does evoke a sense of panic. Nicely written.
