This is...actually really confusing. I don't know these characters (Are they from somewhere else? You should mention that if you erelying on it). You use "his lover" way too many times (particularly for such a situation) and I lose track of who is who. Are these preestablished couples/relationships?

The idea itself isn't bad, though. I kind of think the idea of celebrating New Year's this way is...unique, at least.

Also, I like the nicknames, because I tell who they belong to, and nicknames are good for establishing characters.
