This is pretty damn good!

Short, but it gets the point across by implying [A Fate Worse Than Death]. Or, at least, I think that's what it's implying. Very mysterious.

The blinks served as interesting pauses between the action, denoting the passage of time quite well, although I was sort of startled by the end- why would she smile?

Otherwise, great story!
