Uh, I actually don't have much to say on this chapter. I think there were a few typos throughout this (I'm half asleep while reading/reviewing, mind you) so a quick proofreading might fix that.

Uhh... I honestly am not sure what to say. I feel like we should be getting back into the thick of the plot here soon, since exams are coming up. We have the tattoo dilemma and the stuff with the grandpa to cover up, and those are the only ones I can bring to mind right now.

You should probably definitely update soon, but if you do and there are any mushy scenes in there... Don't expect to hear from me for a few days. I'll probably seize on the floor from excitement if anything juicy happens.

It worked just fine. Didnt even give it a thought. Lol Im actualy convinced my friend is a wizard because he seemingly pops of of NO WERE So the neighbors would probly be thinking the exact same thing as me "WERE DOSE THAT GUY COME FROM?!"

But the transition was good:D It still had some of the impact from the last one(by the way, did you edit the previous chapter? it seemed better this time around):P
The ending was a bit abrupt, but I take it as a sign it will continue from there in the next one?

S... that family is seriously screwed up. Well, mostly the stepdad. But yeah. Creepy aspects of blood bonds are creepy. See, this is why magical bonds to people aren't all fun and games. It leads to people taking advantage of other people. Geez, no wonder why Eiryu's got some reservations about all of the different bonds.

Also, I totally thought at the very beginning of the chapter that the root beer floats were still hot, not the pretzels, until I had a second look at the sentence.

Well, the sulking was certainly like a teenager. I get a bit like that when I'm worried.

[Eiryu and Ayasaz weren't dueling, so they didn't need any real help from their familiars so Eiryu's teacher had decided it was a good time for Rey to catch up on reading things to remember for Eiryu later.] This sentence is very lengthy. I'd recommend breaking it up into two separate sentences.

Honestly, I'm so used to the Eiryu shown in this chapter that it felt like the past few chapters haven't really happened. I've got a killer headache, so I'm not sure if that'd good or bad. Let's go with good, heh.

The ending has a lot of nice closing feelings about it, though I feel like this was a filler chapter. We've just been slammed with a lot of heavy stuff, yeah, but I feel like there could have been more meat to this.

Thats really fucked up, although it's soposed to be of corse. I can really relate to Rey in thios instcance of not knowing how to confort someone in a situation, I had a friend who whent trhough something...similer? and i had no way opof conforting her..luckly through some couciling and a ver very forgiving and awsome mother...I stoll have my friend by my side.

Just noticed this as I was reading... [smiling giddily at each other] sounds weird coming out of a teenager's mouth.

Eiryu is really distant in this chapter. He obviously shares quite a bit of his past with Rey, but he's very detached. It's becoming more and more noticeable, which is out of character with who we've come to known as Eiryu. If this is a change that's going to last, make sure it's gradual so that we don't get whiplash. :)

Other than that, I really like the intricacies of the background you've given us. There's a lot more to Echai's story than what I originally thought, and it gives the story a new depth. I like that.

The truth is finally brought and I feel as though I can sympathise with Eiryu, not because I lost a twin but because I have lost to much for someone my age...

first question answer: Yes the emotional impact was strong on this chapter, I feel so sorry for Eiryu... and he is just a character!

Second question answer: Eiryu seemed appropriately upset, I would if I lost a twin I would be an emotional reck

third question answer: no the pieces dont seem exceptionally stupid, but I am still very curious about the tattoo on Rey's back
