Hmmmm...interesting...in a good way, of course. I have to admit, the scene you discribed in the beginning of the chapter seemed kind of cliche, but then again, what's a pirate story without a cliche setting and a map? Haha some cliches work, that's why they're cliche, and I feel you picked the right ones. And the curse was one I had never heard before, especially the loophole. I also like how you descibe things enough to leave the reader satisfied, but not enough to overwhelm and draw away from the plot, something that shouldn't be done in the first few chapters. I really am looking forward to the next chapter! :)
