|Reviews for The Girl Without a Soul|
| Kay Iscah 5/4/12 . chapter 1
Very humanist...the story makes it's point without being too heavy handed. It's nihilistic sort of point, which works with the ghost story feel.
Then again, maybe I'm reading the wrong point. Maybe she's dangerous because she lures Jun into forgetting the value of his own soul.
The continuous drinking puts me off, but that's mainly because I'm not a drinker...I know too much about what alcohol does to the brain.
The imagery at the start is very strongly visual, and I wish a little more of that had continued through the rest of the dialogue.
Overall well done. Sad, completely misses the point of why many people are concerned with eternity, but it does it eloquently, with just enough ambiguity to start a discussion rather than end one, which is what I think a good short does.
