So amazing! Is is similar to the book The Selection? I haven't read it yet but the plot seems more bachelor-esque TV show then your plot! Can't wait for more!

I've been reading this story for the past couple days, and I love it! I love how you give detail to the setting, so it's easy to picture it, without going off on tangents about, like, the exact shade of a blade of grass. ;) I also love your pacing, being drawn out enough like a real novel without being too slow. :)

Kael is slimey, and I'm not sure yet what exactly to think of Edric (being the king) or Gereon (after what Maelia said about him), but I'm excited to see how their characters flesh out in the end!

I hope that you continue this story soon, and I look forward to discovering what is to happen in the story. :D

That was as epic as I had hoped it would be, though I am still curious who had orchestrated it and why. I do not think they put everyone through that test, some of those affiliates are too 'fragile' for that, and dead affiliates would eventually be noticed.

I'm sure her meeting with Ahlvie has some significance for the future, and I cannot wait to see what you do with it.

My favorite part was the very end when she makes that promise to herself. It makes me want to keep reading so I know how this war tuns out!

OH DAMN Crazie-ADORED THIS chapter! It was INTENSE as she played out the role to escape-man eating fish, snakes, etc-LOVED IT ALL! The drunk -PERFECTION and his help-SWEET! I CANNOT WAIT to see what she does to them and EXACTLY WHO THEY ARE! She is quite the little WILDCAT HUH? ENTHRALLED with this character and her SPUNK-YOU HAVE DONE AN AMAZING JOB WRITING HER!

Great chapter! She proved herself and she made it out alive, living up to their expectations though she doesn't consider herself a warrior...I wonder if every Affiliate and member of the High Order goes through this and if the King is behind it...or maybe the royalties don't know anything. For some reason I sense that Ahlvie is more than he seems to be and/or that he'll play an unexpected role. Also, I'm curious about the nature of the relationship between the Queen, the King and the Consort. So many questions! You are definitely a talented writer for creating them! Can't wait for the next chapter!

Yes... girl power! :) She proved herself to be a fighter but why did she have to prove this... and then speak to no one about it... and the mystery thickens. Does this have anything to do with the Queen? Can't wait to read further.

I've been on vacation and behind on my chapters apparently. This was a good, fast paced chapter. Love what's going on between the king and Cyrene, but I am unable to trust him completely. And now the mystery truly begins with this kidnapping of sorts... Lots of possibilities with this. Good job.

ooooooo, wonder what will happen! My prediction is that it is the Prince that is in the cave with her, which may be just as dangerous as a wild animal from the sounds of it.

Honestly, it has taken me a bit to get in to this story, I don't usually read stories set in another time, but the end of this chapter got me, so now I am hoping you update super soon! :-)

Okay what on Earth is going on? I knew it couldn't be all sun and rainbows and royalty, that there would be fighting somehow mixed into it all. Who are those people, and I wonder how Cyrene's going to get out? Also, isn't King Edric asking Cyrene to call him by his first name a sufficient clue that he's at least favouring her a little too much? I understand she is attracted to him, but surely she has enough self-restraint to stay away or put in boundaries? Is King Edric a good guy, or just in it physically like Prince Kael?

I just had the worst night, and somehow your story let me forget all of that for the period of time I was reading it. What are my mundane troubles to a middle of the night life or death trial? Quite exciting, though now I'm itching to know what comes next! It almost eclipses the special attention Edric is paying to her - almost. Somehow I think that their little walk during the ball instigated the rude awakening that Cyrene got, but I'll see if I was right in the next chapter (hopefully).

HELL AND DAMNATION here Crazie-the ground has just fallen from my feet and am DANGLING over the cliff! My mind is running in a hundred different directions with this chapter and YOU HAVE CAUGHT MY COMPLETE ATTENTION! There is something there between Cyrene and the King but -what? And just what is happening to her as she is dragged from her chambers into this so called cave? I will BARELY be able to hold on until the next update-LITERALLY! My body surged with an ABUNDANCE OF EMOTION! An EXCELLENT, BRILLIANT AND AMAZING chapter my dear! YOUR WRITING IS EXCEPTIONAL AND OUTSTANDING!

This chapter didn't have much in the way of progressing the story, but I suspect you were just building up to future things with Cyrene's growing friendship with Gereon and Maelia. Somehow I am not surprised that court life is treating her poorly with the queen and prince disliking her so much. Though I am surprised that the consort hasn't approached her yet.
