| Complex Variable 10/25/12 . chapter 1 [ But she often wondered, death would be better than the utter loneliness.] - - -why not add "if" or "whether" between "wondered" and "death"? ["This is as good as it's going to get," she muttered.] - - - why not add "I guess" at the beginning of the line of dialogue. Interesting characterization; dreams as escapism is a nice theme, and, considering the brevity of the prologue, you do a good job of establishing a contrast between the solace Bailey finds in her dreams and the uncomfortable realities of her day-to-day life. |

| Loraine Wentworth 9/21/12 . chapter 2 George sounds lke a horrible person. I hope she manages to get revenge on him at some point! Anyway, this ends on an exciting cliff hanger. Just before that, with the sense of being followed in the shop, you set up an ominious atmosphere. Overall I really enjoyed this. Your main character is well balanced and therefore very easy to like. I look forward to seeing how her adventures continue. |
