Awesome story.

Very American though.

This is an interesting premise. I love magic school stories and one with mythical creatures as the students just makes it even better. I don't know much about the characters yet, but Soren seems kind of timid.

One thing though, when you have multiple characters talking, you should start a new paragraph for each change in speaker. It just makes the conversation easier to follow.
