This is really good, especially for being your first story! I loved the concept of an element school - that was really intriguing and it was interesting to see how the different categories influenced family decisions/relationships/romance. Mortimyr was my favorite character, I guess just because he's so sweet and sensitive...nice job illustrating all the different personalities, and happy endings are always a good plus, in my opinion :) Make sure your proofread enough to catch any punctuation/spelling/verb tenses that are off...there were a couple parts where you started off in past tense and switched to present tense or vice versa, and then went back again. That can get a little confusing sometimes :) I thought it was good!
