At first I thought it a war hospital poem- the shrapnel- then understood it as a sort of spiritual healing. I'm unclear on who the 3 men are- but I do not think the poem requires that knowledge. The "murderous abyss" stood out to me- and the final 2 stanzas left me hoping that one day they would repair all of us. Another triumph, I believe.
