It's ever so short, but still.

The last two lines are my favourite of the whole thing. I think those lines work well together, they are simple and yet portray a lot of emotion, just the simple "they took my smile away" is very emotive because they have taken a part of you, forced it away from you. I think in places through out the piece you could improve on your description, but overall it's well written.
