jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 9Gahbaljaajjkd! I can't even pick a favorite line for this chapter! The whole thing was my favorite! In response to your question, yes, I think her feelings are progressing well. She's becoming aware of the effects that Aaron has on her but she's not quite at the level of understanding why. And I think that makes all the difference because it allows for her to hold back and get to know Aaron instead of all of a sudden falling for him without any real story behind it. I dunno if that makes sense haha And you're asking me what's going on between Jessa and her dad?! I have no idea but am desperate to find out! Wonderful job! |
jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 8You write so well! Jessa and Aaron are getting closer and closer but at the same time still staying guarded and feisty with one another. "You wish Bradley. I was just wondering what you were doing way out here. Couldn't sleep?" Aaron asked derisively, his smirk still very much intact. Aaron's faced screwed up in mock-thought, "If I remember correctly we actually used roman candles and multiple air horns." This whole part is just too funny. Aaron has no shame and openly admits that he was part of the group that pulled the prank. Probably his idea from the get go. ;) At one point I noticed Aaron glance back at the two of us only for his eyes to widen, and his head whip back to face forward once more. I thought I heard Tucker laugh when he did that but I couldn't be sure. I think Tucker knows what I know! Aaron is totally jealous! He likes Jessa! Yay! Aaron seemed to falter back, and he glanced at the grass before his brown eyes clashed with mine, "I don't hate you." Awww! |
jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 7I love how you're progressing this! It's like Jessa and Aaron are bordering on being friends but then suddenly regret the idea and have too look for excuses to hate one another. Favorite lines: "Looks like I'm stuck here," I heard him whisper in a strained voice. Oh dear god. Psshhh...strained voice, my foot. I'm sure somewhere deep inside, he was happy about having to stay in the seat next to Jessa. "It's no wonder you thought that. She was hanging all over you!" Aaron turned to me as I said that, his lips curling upward arrogantly. "Is someone jealous?" he mocked with a quirked eyebrow. Yes! Of course Jessa is jealous - no matter how much she denies it! And despite my hatred towards him and Bennett Prepatory I could still feel my face heating up and my eyebrows shooting up into my hairline. But before I could say anything else or even thank him he was turning around to walk away from me with a quick parting two-fingered salute in my direction. And I was left there spluttering, trying to figure out what the heck just happened. I know what happened! Jessa likes him but can't admit it! Great chapter! |
jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 6And another wonderful chapter! I love the game! Did you come up with it? Favorite lines: "You know, I don't think I've ever seen him argue with someone like with you. You're the only one who manages to get him really angry." Hmm...that's giving me even more proof that Aaron and Jessa are meant to be together! I like Tucker too. He's adding a whole new twist to everything. I'm wondering if he'll pose as a threat to Aaron. "I told you, I'd catch you," said a husky voice I immediately recognized. I tried to squirm away from him - the envelope tucked firmly in my hand, but he had me pinned to the ground. His hand cradled the back of my head so it didn't hit the ground when I fell, and his face was inches from mine. I could see the brown color of his eyes very clearly. His breath warmed my face as well as his body heat. "You don't have the envelope, yet," I replied. My voice was meant to be biting and sharp, but instead it came out as a pathetic breathy whisper. I blame the fact that his chest was crushing my sternum. His eyebrows quirked in an adorable way, and I could feel his arms loosen around my body. His hand trailed away from the back of my head to my neck, and I felt a shock go straight down my spine. All I can say to that part: *swoon* (but split into two syllables so more like saw-woon! |
jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 5Oh my! This chapter was full of so many moments that were so freaking cute! But at the same time, Aaron kept bouncing back to his Bennett Boy personality. I find it really enjoyable how you can write through his mood shifts without making it painfully obvious that one second he's sweet and the next a complete jerk. It makes it so much more realistic because it's only after he's a jerk that it really clicks for Jessa (and I can relate to that haha). Favorite lines: He scrutinized me for a moment, as if I was lying, before sighing, "Fine I"ll join you." Wait, what? "You really don't have to come with me," I said for what seemed like the thousandth time. Aaron sighed unhappily, "I'm not coming with you because I want to. I'm coming with you because we have to decide on a team bonding activity." Well then. At least he's honest, right? haha "You have got to try this," he urged, and without waiting for my reply he shoved the brownie he was holding into my mouth. Even while trying to feed others, he doesn't feel the need to ask for permission. He is pretty full of himself, isn't he? haha Were all boys like this? Dear god, I hope not. Ugh...yes. I think so / Wait, what? Endearing? Aaron? Nope those two things didn't go together. I don't know if you did this intentionally but you - indirectly - called Aaron a 'thing' which only shows how little Jessa wants to think of him. Plus it's utterly hilarious that she's trying so hard to convince herself that he's not a total sweetheart (after you get through the tough exterior). But before I could, he caught my wrist and pulled me so close to his body. His hand grabbed my chin and I was momentarily speechless by his actions. What was he doing? What was he going to do? For a wild moment I really thought he was going to kiss me from the way he was looking at my lips but he just bought his thumb up to brush the corner of my mouth. Just that small contact sent electric tingles all the way down to my toes. "You had some chocolate..." Aaron trailed off, releasing his hold on me. His brown eyes were intense and it was a wonder that I didn't completely melt under his sharp gaze. Eeep! I have a very strong suspicion that he had other intentions there! So cute! |
jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 4Wow. Jessa is just running into all kinds of problems. I love Keith and Dakota. They seem like an older brother/sister to Jessa. Favorite lines: "What are you talking about." "Well, he's nice for one-" "He's a complete jerk-" "And he's not bad looking-" Dakota continued, ignoring me as if I had never spoken. "Ew. That is disgusting. Not to mention your taste in men is very questionable." She is so quick to respond with her humorously honest - and slightly harsh - opinion. Great job! |
jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 3Oh man. Poor Jessa at the tryout. I would be livid. And it seems like their attempt at team bonding was a complete bust. Favorite line: He had the audacity to give me a cheeky wink while I stumbled. No one ever caught up to me. The urge to physically hurt him was so overwhelming that my foot shot out unconsciously to kick him under the table. My foot found its mark on his shin, and I heard him hiss out in pain. Whoops. Didn't I just promise that I would keep my temper under control? The 'Whoops' makes it so much better. It's like an afterthought that she doesn't really put much emotion into. |
Someone 4/21/13 . chapter 9 I love your story! It's so good! Can't wait for the next chapter! |
jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 2Aaron. Can I just say, I've had the fortune - misfortune, maybe? - to meet a lot of Aarons. And, they always seem to have this irritatingly, permanent smirk. I already feel slightly annoyed by him because he seems like a jerk but I'm hoping he won't be for much longer. Especially because Jessa is more than capable of bringing him down from cloud nine :D Favorite lines: Most of all I wanted to get rid of that infuriating smirk on his face. And so I stepped right up to him and swiftly bought my knee up. He definitely deserved it! haha Oh! And what's the deal with her dad? Who is he? He knew about the new coach being from Bennett Prep. Does he work over there? Maybe he's the principal over there? I'll keep reading to find out! |
jinx89 4/21/13 . chapter 1Yay! I finally had time to come review your story :) I absolutely love this first chapter. You did a wonderful job establishing the friendship that Jessa, Nikki, and Angie have. It feels like I've known them forever! I also really love Jessa's attitude. Favorite lines: For all I know he could be the axe wielding murderer I was talking about earlier except he uses his good looks and charm to kidnap poor defenseless girls. Oh god...I was going to be his next victim. Jumping to conclusions. We all do that and it totally cracked me up! Alrighty, on to the next chapter :) |
myfabulousity 4/20/13 . chapter 9Love this story! |
