I think it should have been a tad longer, just add something like what he felt exactly, did it hurt, was there a big difference in temperature in the cave, did he hesitate at all before he did what he had to do? It was a good plot and was put together well. I just think it needs more to it. Like this is a skeleton of a story and you need to add flesh to it. (No pun intended.)
