This is great. The emotions are there and I think your writing has potential... A lot of people can relate with this feeling and you expressed it simply but well. When looking for improvments, I would just suggest making the piece more personal and adding your own sweet touches so a character and "soul" is created around the piece. Great work. Keep writing.
