Nice cliffhanger! Lark has a very distinctive voice that's a pleasure to read. Very nice job on the vernacular of the two people in the bar. There were one or two question marks that I felt were out of place, but those can sometimes be difficult. Excellent chapter.

This is really interesting, so far. I'll have to keep an eye on this story. It took a little while for me to get used to the present tense, but once I got into the swing of things it was easy.
