I really enjoy this poem, because I never thought about the relationship of Icarus to the sun, or a relationship like Icarus to the sun. The idea of a relationship like that with a person, a person who burns so bright that when you get too close to them, you only end up burned, melted, hurtling back towards the earth... but the damage is worth it, just to be so close to them. To love someone immensely despite all that damage, unwitting damage, damage that comes only from their natural state of being which is to burn, burn, burn... I love it.
