Can't he win the lottery or something?

Hi there!
To be honest, I'm not sure if this is a prologue of some sort or if it's the whole story. I hope it's a prologue mainly because I want to see what happens next, and also because it's very fairy-taley. Pretend that's a word. I don't have a problem with fairy-taley stuff - in fact, my own story has many parallels to it - but other formats do allow more details and character development and awesome stuff like that. I don't want to be mean or anything, but we don't even know anybody's names. Anyway, that gives me the feeling this is a prologue of some sort, but I'm not sure.
Little Question: If you're a knight, doesn't that make you nobility? You know, rich...and richer? Cuz you said the knight was a poor villager, and that makes me a little confused.
But ANYWAY, it's not really a bad story. It's got a lot going for it, and I'd be really interested to see it go further even if it is in fairy-tale format. So update soon!
