Very nice guide. Very helpful. I understand when you said some authors purposely misspell things to catch plagiarism(sp? I fail. I just read that and already forgot the correct spelling.. XD). In my Soul Eater FF, I purposely misspell 'Death the Kid' as 'Death the Kidd' to avoid plagiarism and avoid confusion.
You should check out Flowers for Algernon. It's a really awesome novel that uses this technique perfectly!
