A witch then was NOT what you'd consider a witch now. A witch was poor old Imogene, the seventy year-old woman. Bridget, the fifteen year-old girl with so much beauty every boy wants her. Alice, the clever, tomboyish thirty year-old.

A witch now? Look at Halloween decorations. A witch then? Look at my favorite painting, 'the Magic Circle' by John William Waterhouse. Huge difference, isn't it?
