I found this very interesting. I like how you went straight into the horror! Good story :)

Wow, I'm a pretty big fan of the horror story and I enjoyed this. The suspense you created in certain places was fantastic, such as when the girl notices the thing at the end of her bed. I like that it's not actually described, it's just referred to as a "thing". It leaves it up to the reader to conjure up their own image of what is horrifying to them.

The other scene was when the girl wakes up and just finds her mom sit next to her bed, unaware. At first I was afraid because I didn't know what she would see, but then I was freaking out when her mom just sort of didn't say or do anything.

I will leave a word of caution here: because of recent movies like Paranormal Activity, I wasn't able to appreciate the full horror of this story. By that I mean, I didn't really like the fact that what was going on with the mom was a "possession". The suspense was great, but the realization that the mother was possessed by this thing sort of spoiled the ending for me.

Otherwise, a good story.
