Father time a cruel and unyielding taskmaster to us all, pretty deep prose for one so young as you Smile, but nevertheless another thoughtful effort on your part. Keep writing. :)

I liked your use of imagery here. It was distinct and made sense in the context of your narrative. I was a little jarred by your use of contractions, though. In the first stanza you use "it is", which is a little stiff and doesn't flow as well, but by the third stanza you're using "it's". Normally I don't think this would bother me, but for this particular piece, I think you should probably stick with one and decide on a formal or informal voice.
