Great scene descriptions! I was in the city right there with the characters. What a gloomy place, prison guard buildings, cold uncaring people if not downright mean. A young girl fighting addiction and the saddness in her eyes. But look around her in the cold city, she's surrounded by gloom. You're right you do write well.
