I really like the perspective in this story, and I think the thought process of the narrator was very realistic yet clever. I would like to read more but overall, I think this is better left a one-shot.

I think that you could make this into more than a one-shot, if you wanted to. Or just keep it a one-shot. I know that's not very helpful, but it really could go either way. I really like this, its true, it shouldn't matter where love comes from.
I also think you did very well on this :)
