The idiom, in this construction is 'second to NONE', which would mean that having a great senior is guaranteed. If you meant to suggest that there was little or no chance of having a great year, a clearer statement would be just that: There is no possibility ... OR There is only a remote possibility...
If this is a racing metaphor, it needs a little elaboration: The possibility of me having a great senior year is running second to ... complete disaster/The Tea Party supporting medicare -or anything really improbable.

In the story: coincidences/ coincidentally. -this doesn't mean what the rest of the construction implies. Occurrences or incidents or happenings/spontaneously would make sense, but coincidences/coincidentally don't.
