And I'm completely clueless as to if Death and 'you' are romantically involved or are like siblings. And (finally) I also have no idea what genders they are. Boy and boy? Girl and girl? Boy and girl? Girl and boy?

I like the dialogue, it's interesting and compelling, but the continual change in points of view are distracting, disorienting, and it doesn't seem to add to the story.
