There's something really attractive about working a foreign language into a story, and I think you do it very well :) Keep it up! I love the spells!

Awesome beginning! I love how complex the magic sounds, not just the boring element blah blah.

Just one thing, though: '"Huh?' commented her, tilting her head to one side in confusion.' Yeah, you can't say "commented her," (like in Italian, I assume,) you gotta say "she commented". Other than that, this is awesome. Keep it up!

I am curious, however about the world the story is set in, there seems to be a lot of Abrahamic religious imagery and Italian in it. Is this an alternative universe with magic?
One nit pick - in the first chapter, you say 'elude himself', is that meant to be 'delude'?
