Elizabeth Cooper 12/29/12 . chapter 7
I don't have much to say about chapters 4 and 5. They were great; your rewrites were prefect. But I do have a question. Was the victory at Stalingrad from history, or is it fiction? Chapter six was good as well; I nearly cried when Vasili got shot. I was sure he was going to die. I'm anxious to see if he survives. Speaking of Vasili, I think it would be a brilliant idea if you added some tidbits about Tanya worrying about her family-especially her brothers-back in Russia. Just a thought. Chapter seven was balanced very well. You had an intense scene, a romantic scene, and then another intense scene. It fit perfectly. Really great writing.
Elizabeth Cooper 12/19/12 . chapter 3
I definitely see a love triangle brewing. I can't wait till Tanya and Jane meet! You're right, it is moving a bit slow, but I'll trust you when you say it's all for a purpose. But besides slowing down the story, it's a very good chapter. But then again, anything with debutantes and London in it would be good to me. I look forward to reading more.
Elizabeth Cooper 12/19/12 . chapter 2
Was I the only one who laughed through the entire second part of this chapter? I really liked your rewrite-you toned it down to fit with Tanya's character, but it was still playful. I really liked the memory of the war time. Even if I like your plot and characters, I have to admit that it's the war descriptions that really make your story. All-over a great chapter-I have no critism. Oh, and good luck on your new job.

Okay Peter will be having his hometown at war!
Elizabeth Cooper 12/7/12 . chapter 1
I really liked the beginning, how it started with Chertov instead of Peter and Tanya. It brings the reader in starting a potential conflict from page one; brilliantly done. Even how much I try to dislike Chertov, there is something about him that I really like. The rest of the chapter was great too. It brings back the main characters from the first book-Peter, Tanya, Jane, and Chertov-and reintroduces them. I would like to know more about Peter's brother, though. Is he going to be an important character later on? Anyway, I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more.
